An intra-active sound installation, inviting nature into the design process.
A ‘free-of-humans’-sound installation that came to as a result of a friend and mine’s Bachelor's Project: a one-hour-long ambient soundscape made by generative digital sound synthesis, which was affected in real-time by the fading daylight.
In this project we used photosensors connected to a Teensy which sent MIDI messages to VCV Rack, controlling a low-pass filter within, resulting in the soundscape gradually fading out as the sun set.
Heavily inspired by the theory of Agential realism from Karen Barad, as well as the concept of Emergent properties, this was our take on an intra-active design approach.
